The International Coalition For Jewish Internet Outreach

Charter

The International Coalition Of Jewish Internet Outreach is supported by Keren Yehoshuah V'Yisroel. It was organized on Pesach, 5758.

Its purpose is to support Jewish outreach by supporting organizations and individuals that use the Internet for outreach.

Its goal is to help them become more effective and to succeed.

The Coalition only supports organizations and individuals who promote Torah / Traditional Judaism.

It does not support sites, even those that claim to be traditional, which support theologies that are vastly different than mainstream Orthodox thought. International Coalition For Jewish Internet Outreach reserves the right to make that determination in conjunction with its rabbinic counselors.

Membership is typically by invitation, only. Members are encouraged to nominate sites and individuals for membership. They may do so by e-mail. Also, Kiruv sites and professionals should feel free to apply for membership.

As of this date, there are no dues or charges for membership.

The Coalition does not promote home usage of the Internet, especially for observant families. It supports activities that provide outreach to wayward Jews who will have the Internet in their homes anyway.

The Coalition believes that the proliferation of Torah / Traditional Internet outreach sites is good for the goals of Jewish outreach because this increases contact points and thereby this increases opportunities for outreach.

The Coalition encourages and supports the growth and success of outreach megasites.

The Internet is no one's 'private lake' and the Coalition does not support parochialism. It endorses all member sites equally.

The Coalition supports the promotion of all Torah / Traditional Internet outreach sites. It encourages members to promote each other's sites.

The Coalition strongly recommends against providing links to sites that are not consistent with Torah / Traditional values and practice or that have links to such sites.

The Coalition hopes to help unify the efforts of all Torah organizations towards a common goal of Jewish outreach.

The Coalition is non-political and actively seeks to cross organizational boundaries. To maximize effectiveness, its membership roster is kept confidential.
